December 2018

The weather isn’t the only thing cooling off this winter. For the past three months, we’ve seen an overall shift in the market conditions. Not to say that’s a bad thing. Quite frankly, a more neutral market is better for buyers and helps to provide a more sustainable real estate market long-term for homeowners. With all that’s going on in the financial market, we may see that play favorably against any projected interest rate increases; more good news for buyers and sellers in the first quarter of 2019.

As for inventory, there are currently more homes on the market for buyers to choose from, and if I were to make a prediction, I’d say we’ll see inventory pick up rather swiftly in the early part of next year. We haven’t seen any significant changes in values — year to date we’re up 4% over last year. Home values were higher this summer, but with the softening of the market comes price adjustments.
